Dunlop Dairy is the only cheesemaker producing Traditional Ayrshire Dunlop PGI, based near Stewarton in Ayrshire, we also make a range of cow’s milk and goat’s milk farmhouse Scottish cheeses.
We keep a small herd of 30 Traditional Ayrshire cows and around 100 goats here at Clerkland Farm. Being a small operation means we can do both the milking and the cheesemaking ourselves, giving us complete control over quality and animal welfare. Our approach to farming is simple: we put back what we take from the land, growing our own feed and working with the seasons rather than against them.
